Large balcony sliding glass doors bring natural light into a condo living room, but strong sunlight can also cause glare and unwanted warmth. Choosing the right window covering helps create a more comfortable space without compromising the open balcony view.
At Stunning Decor, we help homeowners in Kuala Lumpur and Selangor find practical window furnishing solutions. For this KL condo project, our team installed a motorized roller blind with Anna Water Repellent fabric in Mocha Brown (BB374), selected to reduce harsh sunlight while maintaining a naturally bright living room.
This project video shows the motorized roller blind rising smoothly in front of the living room's balcony sliding glass door. As the blind rolls upward, the glass door and outdoor view gradually become visible.
The demonstration highlights convenient motorized operation, adjustable window coverage and the blind's neat appearance in a modern condo interior.
| Project Detail | Description |
|---|---|
| Property | Condominium in Kuala Lumpur |
| Installation Area | Living Room Balcony Sliding Glass Door |
| Blind System | Motorized Roller Blind |
| Fabric Series | Anna Water Repellent |
| Product Code | BB374 |
| Colour | Mocha Brown |
| Fabric Type | Translucent |
| Main Purpose | Reduce direct sunlight while preserving natural daylight |
For this living room, the homeowner wanted protection from strong sunlight without the darker effect of blackout blinds.
Our team recommended Anna Water Repellent, a translucent roller blind fabric that softens incoming light while allowing some daylight to pass through. The Mocha Brown colour also provides a warm, understated finish that suits the condo's contemporary interior.
The selected fabric offers several practical properties:
| Fabric Feature | Specification |
|---|---|
| Water & Stain Repellent | Yes |
| Fungus, Bacteria & Mildew Repellent | Yes |
| Coating | Water-Based Acrylic |
| Colour Fastness to Light | Grade 7 (Blue Scale) |
| Total Finish Weight | 255 g/m² ± 10% |
| Coated Thickness | 0.35 mm ± 10% |
| Fire Retardant | No |
Important: Anna Water Repellent is not a blackout or fully waterproof fabric. Its water- and stain-repellent treatment helps with everyday maintenance but does not guarantee complete water protection.
For routine cleaning, the supplier recommends wiping with a damp cloth and mild detergent, then allowing the fabric to hang dry.
Motorized roller blinds are especially practical for large balcony doors where homeowners want flexible sunlight control without manually pulling a blind.
| Blind Position | Practical Benefit |
|---|---|
| Lowered | Filters incoming sunlight and reduces glare |
| Partially Raised | Adjusts window coverage to suit daytime needs |
| Fully Raised | Reveals the balcony view and opens up the glass door |
The motorized system also keeps operation simple, while the roller design provides a clean appearance when raised.

Every condo has different window sizes, sunlight exposure and interior requirements. Rather than recommending blackout fabric for every space, we consider how homeowners use each room before selecting suitable materials.
For this project, our recommendation focused on:
Choosing translucent fabric for comfortable daytime brightness.
Using Anna Water Repellent in Mocha Brown (BB374).
Pairing the fabric with motorized roller blind operation.
Keeping the balcony window covering simple and coordinated.
